Age Banding within incremental refresh

Hello,

I have a medium to large model with around 200,000,000 rows. this is mostly transactional data with a number of dimensions modeled nicely into a star schema.

My fact tables are loading on an incremental refresh and partitioned by months. I'm looking to add a couple of columns on the fact they are

  1. [days overdue] = duedate - today   this should return a int
  2. [Age Banding] = IF( days overdue < 31 , "0-30 Days", IF( days overdue < 61, "31-60 Days" etc...

This issue is that due to the incremental refresh - these columns are only getting updated with the partition that refreshing not across the whole dataset - I'm going to try pushing my model into a data mart then adding in a composite model at the PBIX level but wondered if anyone had encountered this before or if there was any best practice around it?

Any help is appricated.
Thanks

Rob

Hi @Accelins

What I would do is to rather create it as a measure, so that you can create the days overdue on the fly. Which would then also allow you to create a measure for the Age Banding?

That is how I have done it on larger datasets.
