Adding a New User

Hello All,

Technical question and I appreciate your help!

user from organization A has pro license and he wants to to publish reports to organization B. Can you confirm if these are the only options to do that:

1-organization A shares the actual pbix file with organization B and organization B publish it to their server.

2-organization B creates a new user account and link it to their subscription that would allow the user from organization A to create and publish the report.

also another question, can organization B allow the user using his organization A account to publish reports to their server?

Thanks again!

Hi @Anonymous,

According to this blog post some things are possible, others are not.

I suggest you start with the blog post, and also read this B2B whitepaper.

When the Admin settings are correct as mentioned in the blog post, a guest user from OrgA should be able to login to the tenant URL from OrgB you provide. UserA can have is own Pro license in OrgA, or a Pro license can be assigned to the guest user in OrgB.

While most experiences are available to these Guest users, there are some that are not supported, specifically:

  • Direct publishing from Power BI Desktop to the Power BI service
  • And many more: see the blog post.

Hope this helps.
