Add MariaDB ODBC to on premise Gateway

Hi dear community,

The issue is the following: I have an MariaDB ODBC installed on my computer (64-bit 3.1 Driver, System DSN). It perfecttly connects to Power BI and pulls the data.

However when it comes to publishing and adding MariaDB to Gateway I face issues.

Would be very grateful for any advice/information/article you can share on this.

In particular:

1.which data type I need to use: ODBC or BI Connector?

2.what connection string I need to enter in Connection string field: MariaDB or MariaDB ODBC 3.1 Driver.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous ,

  1. BI connector is a general concept including many kinds of connectors, when you add a new data source to gateway, I think you should choose ODBC data source type in this issue;
  2. When you set connection string, the Connection string field should be like DSN=your dsn name:
    • ODBC.png

You can refer this issue about setting ODBC datasource in gateway: Add ODBC datasource to gateway
