Hello,
After setting up our AFAS connector in powerBI service gateway, I get the following error message when I try to refresh the dataset. I am able to refresh the set in desktop without any problems. When I remove the connector from the dataset, it updates fine. Multiple reports that use this connector have the same issue.
The weird thing is, that PBI service says "Connection Succesful" in the gateway settings, so why doesn't it work?
TIA!
Hi @Anonymous ,
When you add datasource to your gateway, please keep the Authentication Method same as the one on Power BI Desktop.
Please keep "Skip Test Connection" unselected and try it again to see if it works. Maybe you can find the cause.

Hi @Icey ,
Thanks for your reply.
When you add datasource to your gateway, please keep the Authentication Method same as the one on Power BI Desktop.
Both are set to "Anonymous". AFAS works with tokens, so during the connection in PBI Desktop it sends a token to the connector and that gets validated. However, in PBI service I don't have the option to insert a token anywhere. Below is how it's set up in Desktop.
Please keep "Skip Test Connection" unselected and try it again to see if it works. Maybe you can find the cause.
When I uncheck "Skip Test Connection" and hit "Apply", I get the following error.
The privacy level on this source is set to "Organizational" for both service & desktop.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Sorry, I don't know how to insert the authorization token. But I find this post : AZURE FUNCTION APP PROXY. Hope it could help you.
And, you can provide your feedback on Power BI Ideas. If your feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
Best Regards,
Icey
