left and right scrolling visual with overlay

Does anyone know if it is possible to have an overlay on a visual that will scroll left or right, keeping the same position with the underlying data visual ?

W are pulling together a gantt view f projects and their delivery milestones, but want to overlay something that shows change freezes, (possibly a shape ?) and need this overlay to maintain it's position, relative to the milestones on the actual report.

Thanks in advance for any hints

Fred

I'm pretty sure this is impossible. Visuals only interact with each other in terms of filters and datasets, then each visual renders it's own content. There is no way for one visual to even know if another visual is displaying scrollbars and with 3rd party visuals it is even more locked down, they are deliberately isolated from anything else on the page for security reasons.

Your only options are to see if you can incorporate these change freezes into your existing data somehow or if this is really important to you maybe you could look at hiring someone to build a custom visual with this specific functionality.

Thanks for the suggestion.  We've ended up ging down a similar path, creating a "Freezes" project plan so that the tasks appear at the top of the display.
