Hello,

I'm using PowerBI Desktop (May 2019) and PowerBI Report Server (May 2019). When I upload a report from Desktop to the Report Server I got the error : error windows.PNG

I know that I may bypass this error by changing MANUALLY the data source of this report in the Report Server (report->Manage->Datasource...), but it's tediuous to do everytime. Is there a way to get the reports work automatically after the uplaod in the Report Server?

Thanks for your help.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Is your PBI report direct query to a SQL backend?  I have created a similar post about receiving this error under very specific circumstances here.
Maybe you could take a look at my post and see if your use-case is similar?

I have found that reverting back to January 2019 Power BI Desktop and deploying the reports has been the solution for us as this problem in my case appears to be specific to the combination of May 2019 Desktop edition and May 2019 Report Server edition.

Thanks,

-Jarret.
