We have an on prem Power BI server and created a Power BI template with the table relationships defined in the model to help self service users to create reports. The data source for the template is an Oracle database.
When a new person (who has never opened the Power BI report or template previously), they are prompted to enter the database (DB) credentials when they tried to use the template. We thought that we could save the DB credentials to the template but it looks like it does not do that. We cannot use AD authentication as it is an Oracle data source.
I'm interested in seeing how people overcome this issue.
Is there a setting or configuration that we have not done correctly? or is it just that the Power BI template cannot store the DB credentials?
Cheers
