HI @Anonymous ,

What kind of sharepoint connection is this? Is it sharepoint on-premises or sharepoint Online?

Sharepoint Online is not supported as a datasource in Power BI Report Server. Check the link below for supported datasources:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/data-sources

Thanks,

Pragati

@Pragati11 it is a sharepoint excel and i am connecting to it as a web data source. it works fine in Power BI service. but i want that in PBIRS.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I am not sure if you went through the list of datasource that are supported by PBRS.

In your scenario you are using Sharepoint Online which is clearly not supported by PBRS, therefore your data refresh is not working.

Thanks,

Pragati

@Pragati11  Hi Pragati,

though it is sharepoint source we can still get the excel file url and use it as a web connection in Power BI.

I have seen that it works fine.

Have you ever used such sources in PBIRS?

As per Microsoft web source is allowed for schedule refresh.

and my source looks like below in PBIRS.

@Pragati11

Hi @Anonymous ,

Can you confirm if you are using sharepoint online or Web connection?

Based on your original question, you mentioned you are using Sharepoint online connection which is not supported in PBRS:

Hi Pragati, @Pragati11
i am using a web connection as i showed above, i am pulling a excel data from sharepoint and using a web connection.

In power bi desktop it works with organization account authentication to fetch data,.

and when i publish the same report in PBIRS, we have only these 3 options, Anonymous, Basic and widnows authentication.

I tried all 3 but none of them are not allowing me to connect to the same web connection which i can in power bi desktop.

Kindly advise.
