SharePoint on premise to Power BI embedded report forcing authentication twice

Hello I have a sharepoint on premise solution that embeddeds a power bi report server url in a sharepoint site. It works fine, but when logging into SP and hitting iframe I am forced to login again. Can anyone help?

Hi @andersonp45 ,

For your description, if you're working with SharePoint Online, Power BI Report Server must be publicly accessible. In SharePoint Online, the Power BI Web part that works with the Power BI service won't work with Power BI Report Server.

After getting the URL, you need to add the query string parameter to embed the report in the SharePoint iFrame
For example

https://myserver/reports/powerbi/Sales?rs:embed=true

For more details, you can read related document.

Embed a Power BI Report Server report using an iFrame in SharePoint Server

If the problem is still not resolved, please point it out and provide related operation screenshoots. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry

Hello this is an on-premise Power BI Report Server; so we would not register. The SharePoint on-premise is in the same domain as PB Report Server. But again; when passing url from SP to Report Server and adding rs:embed=true as well below; i am still forced to login twice. both servers are https servers; they are seperate boxes. can you help?

This does not sound right. By default both Sharepoint and Power BI Report Server use integrated windows authentication so there should not be any login prompts at all. Are your servers in a different domain to your users or have you implemented some sort of custom authentication?

so both boxes are on premise. we are using a proxy for them to be accessible to the outside world; but whether accessing internally or externally - authentication for the sharepoint site is required - which is ok - but when accessing the link for the report server - another authentication is being required.
