Scheduled Refresh and Python script for data transformation

Hello,

I created a report that uses Python script to add new column on my existing dataset.

import pandas as pd
dataset["TEST"] = 1

When i refresh data in Desktop, everything is ok, but when i upload report on my Reporting Server and set scheduled refresh it didn't worsk, i got this error:

The import Python.Execute matches no exports. Did you miss a module reference?. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface

 And status of my schedule:

Data source error: Login failed for data source ‘Unknown’.

I have installed Python on my server, when I refresh report in Desktop on my server it works fine. That happens with any simple Python script.

Can someone help me with that issue?

Re: Scheduled Refresh and Python script for data transformation

Python scripts and visuals are not supported on Power BI Report Server.  You can develop those components within PBI Desktop, but that is all you can accomplish at the moment.  For Python support, you'll need to move your report into the cloud.

Thank you for your reply.

R scripts and visuals on PBI RS are not supported too?
Does Microsoft provide to introduce Python Scripts / R Scripts to transform data on Reporting Server in the future?

Re: Scheduled Refresh and Python script for data transformation

Correct, R scripts and visuals are NOT supported in Power BI Report Server.

Link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/compare-report-server-service

Microsoft currently does not plan to introduce R scripts for report server: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/31910464-r-visuals-in-report-serv...

Whether they plan to introduce Python or not, I do not know. There has not been much transparency regarding what features will be included in the January/May/September releases of PBIRS.

I find all this very disappointing, as I'm sure you do too, but I'll admit that I don't have much familiarity with the architectural challenges they would need to overcome in order to provide support for these components.
