Publish to Power BI option usage in Power BI Desktop (October 2017)

Hi,

 

In Oct 2017 release for Power BI Desktop version optimized for report server(Power BI Dekstop (October 2017)), "Publish to Power BI" option is provided in the File menu. Can some provide the use of this option. Does this option means we can develop Power BI On-premise reports and publish them to Power BI cloud service?

Yes, that has always existed, it is for publishing your Desktop file out to the Power BI Service for the purposes of sharing.
