Publish reports created with Power BI Desktop optimized to Report Server to Premium

Hi all,

I am using Power BI desktop optimized for Report Server (August 2018) publishing PBIX reports to a Power BI Report Server.

I have some questions regarding if in future, PBIX created with this Desktop tool can be published to Premium.

Q1. Can I publish this PBIX  designed with PBI desktop optimized for Report Server to premium?

Q2. AFAIK Premium is a cloud dedicated capacity Service, my question is if Premium option can be deployed on Premise, my customer is a banking company with Cloud restrictions.

Regarding Q2, So Premium is only a cloud dedicated capacity environment?

Yes and No 🙂

Premium brings the capatibility to deploy a Report Server on Premise as a addon. Also, Preium is nearly only online.

Now I have SQL  SERVER Software assurance I feel I only have access to Report Server on premise and not to Premium capabilities.
