PowerBI report server SQL enterprise license problem

Hi guys,

I'm triying to intall the powerbi report serven and i have found some problems and maybe someone can help me. I have Azure  in the company and I have created a virtual machine in azure with SQL enterprise edition core based lincesing but we have problems in the license key to the powerbi report sever

We have tried with the license key of SQL Enterprise and it doesnt work. in any case we have tried to install the SSRS from SQL and the licence key doesnt work too.

Can someone help me on this¿?

*Update: i have read that it is important the SQL Enterprise + Software Assurance.... is it possible to install the sofware assurance in a azure virtual machine or what we can do to have powerbi report server in a Azure VM without any pbi premium.

 Regards!

Power BI Report Server is a separate download and separate license key:

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

hi @Greg_Deckler , thanks for the response

I have donwloaded this in my virtual machine and the problem is when i tried to isntall and put the license. I have an Azure virtual machine with SQL server Enterprise but when i put the license key of enterprise in the pwoerbi report server, it doesnt run.

I have read on internet, that it is necessary de SQL sever enterprise + SA, but i dont find anything how to have SA in a VM or how to install or if it is possible or what i can do instead of move to PowerBI premium

Hmm, I would think that an Azure SQL VM would have SA technically if you didn't use BYOL. You might have to get ahold of Microsoft licensing and get it hammered out.
