PowerBI Report Server and the New Filter Pane

Hi,

Just occured to me that not everyone will have realised this, but you can use the new Filter panes in Jan 19 PowerbI Report Server and I'm guessing the just released May 19 version.

The Powerbi Desktop for Report Server doesn't allow you to enable the filter pane as it's a preview feature. However if you enable in the normal desktop version then load into the Report Server Version it stays available. Once published/uploaded you can also still use the Filter Pane.

I used it with this comparison tool which works well on my Jan 19 PBIRS

Is there any reason this feature is still missing from PBI Report Server? Its frustrating that it still hasn't made an appearance. I'm always a bit cautious about using saving reports developed in the service version of PBI desktop and saving to Report Server as I've run into slight glitches in the past...

Cheers

JT

Yeah I know what you mean. However I've not had any issues using desktop files for me since the October 18 release broke files.

New filters are still a preview feature and the only preview feature i've seen make it into the RS Version before is report tooltips.

Lets hope it GA by the next RS version.
