Power BI report renders really slow for table or matrix in Power BI report server

Power BI report is connected to SSAS tabular cube in Power BI Report server (on-prem). This report renders really slow for table or matrix objects. Same report renders fine in Power BI Cloud service or Power BI desktop. Is there performance issue with Power BI Report server?

Hi Xpherion - there are no general performance issues known for this, so it could be something unique to your report or configuration. A place to start is to determine if the time spent is in data processing (in SSAS) or in the PBI Server. You can query the ExecutionLog3 view in the catalog database, and check the TimeDataRetrieval value for your report (just filter for ItemAction=QueryData). You can also look at tracing in the SSAS server for query time spent.

Thanks Jon for quick reply. We found the problem, it is due to Matrix visualization version. New version of Matrix visualization doesn't work on Power BI Report Server (June 2017 release). More info here
