Power BI report builder unable to see DAX/MDX in query design

hi,

I'm trying to fetch my dataset from power bi service, the report is in direct query mode.

when i go to design mode i can see my fields present..but when i drag and drop i don't see any records.

I also don't see DAX and MDX dropdown in the panel.

When i change my source input to import mode..i can create my paginated report. But in direct query i face this error.

Please help me.

Thanks

Hello Henry,

Thanks for your assistance.

I managed to build the report, but this time i actually typed my sql instead of drag and drop.

This worked.

But i face issue while building the parameters.

Hi @FJ ,

You need to distinguish between import and direct query. import mode is to import the data from the data source to the powerbi, so you can directly call the data when creating a paginated report. For direct query, the data source is connected. The data set must contain the metric, otherwise it will not return the correct result

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry
