If I want to have a PBI Report Server install on a server (called “Server_C”) with SQL Standard Edition and use SQL Enterprise edition license from another server that we have (Called “Server_D”)?
Thanks
Hi @nimal_thenuwara ,
Based on your description, here are two suggestions:
1.You can buy Power BI Premium, this allows you to license the same number of cores that you purchase in capacity in the premium license on premises for your Power BI Report Server.
2.You can purchase SQL Enterprise Edition + Software Assurance. This give you license to install the Power BI Report Server. Only the Content Creators (those building reports) need to have a Power BI Pro license in both cases.

If still have problem, please point it out. Looking forward to your reply.

Unfortunately that is not valid. There are 2 ways of licensing Power BI Report Server.
1. You can buy premium capacity. Then you are entitled to install the same number of cores on-prem for Report Server as you have purchased in premium capacity. So if you have purchase 8 cores of premium you could have 1 x 8 core server or 2 x 4 core servers (or event 4 x 2 core servers)
2. The other way is to purchase SQL Server Enterprise with Software Assurance. In this case the cores you run Report Server on need to be covered by a SQL Enterprise license.
