Power BI Report Server hanging

HI,

I am periodically finding that the reports on our Power BI report Server become unavailable and when I try and access them I just get a loading message on the web page.

Investigating further each time they hang I see the following messages in the log file

Any idea if these are the cause of the hanging and how I can prevent the deletion exceptions from happening?

Antivirus or some other application/service seems locking the log files while reading them. You may be able to determine what's locking that file using LockHunter or any other monitoring tool, immediately after exception occurs.

Hi @MikeSJ ,

how big is the SQL DB sized on which your Report Server DB is stores? Is the Report Server Service and the DB on the same machine? If not may be check the infrastructure.

Best,

Kathrin

Hi,

DB and Power BI are on the same server. All databases are small

Hi @MikeSJ ,

sounds good - do have running jobs on the Report Server? (Scheduele Refreshes)

If yes and you refresh them every 5 or 10 Minutes it also could be that the performace of the rest is effected.

And how many capacity do have on your DB?

BEst,

Kathrin

Hi Kathrin,

No refreshes that frequent and plenty of capacity in the databases.

Looks like I will have to wait till another month rolls around to investigate further.

Cheers,

Mike
