I am planning to work on PowerBI Project. I have a client requirement to depoy PowerBI reports on premise SQL Server Report Server.
I know that we can get the PowerBI Report Server Licence by using one of the following ways
It would be very helpful for me if any one can suggest / provide the solution on my below queries
Query1
In SQL Server Report Server, we can import 2 GB of data. Is there any way to import more than 2 GB data in SQL Server Report Server? I have approx 8 to 10 GB data to import.
Query2
Can we get the same P SKUs licence for PowerBI Report Server using SQL Server Enterprise Edition with Software Assurance (SA) as we can get Power BI Premium to deploy reports on PowerBI Service?
e.g can get P1 (8 Core) or P2 (16 Core) or P3 (32 Core)...licence for PowerBI Report Server
If yes then what would be import limit in PowerBI Report Server for P1, P2, P3....
Many Thanks in Advance.. Really great if any one can resolve these queries
Hi @Anonymous ,
1) You can use SSAS If you need more space for your data (that's very common)
2) I don't think you can publish to the Service If you have no Pro Licence - you need this one to deploy reports in both versions-> Cloud/ OnPremises. The Premium Capacity is only to have more capacity in the Power BI Service and to use some fancy features :).
Best,
Kathrin
