PBIRS up and running but cannot deploy my Datasources, reports from SSRS

Hi All,

I have installed PBIRS, PBI desktop optimized for PBIRS in my remote machine created reports and published them in PBIRS and they can be view suing the URL http://machinename/reports. My  next target is to have shared datsets to view mobile reports. So i installed SSDT 2015 in the same machien created a SSRS project ( but the deployment fails because it says it cannot find the URL http://machinename/reports and asks me to verify the URL). Does SSRS/SSDT be insatlled in a different machine? why does my deployemnt fail in the first palce. In the Report service configuration manager i ahve the below configurtaionsscreenshot1.png

Hi,

I might not really understand what you try to achieve but I would suggest to use different URLs, e.g. http://machinename/PBIreports and http://machinename/reports.

Best regards

Martin

hI @karthikvalluri,

The web service URL virtual directory should be 'reportserver' and the web portal URL should be 'reports'. Please follow this two articles to change the web service URL and web portal URL fine.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/install-windows/configure-a-url-ssrs-configu...

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/install-windows/about-url-reservations-and-r...

Then you can set the target report server URL for the project in SSDT as web service URL.

Thank you guys for the advice. Also for the service account we used "Network Service" rather than domain-user account.

Any suggestion guys? Another confusion i have is now i have 2 configuration managers ( report server configuration manager and reporting services configuration manager) ..both these config managers have web portal and service url has http://machinename/reports. Now from SSRS point of view what should be my Target server URL( Under project->properties) ?

Need suggestions on what needs to be done when both PBIRS and SSRS are installed in same machine. Any help is greatly appreciated.
