Onsite server with company security rules ?

Hello everyone,

Is it possible to set up a report server on a company site for security/confidentiality reasons ? Having the server physicaly inside the walls is needed in this case and having data on cloud is out of question.

PowerBI SSRS server is entirely an on premise solution, your data sources must also be on premise or accessible fomr the on permise server. It integrates into your Active Directory and has all the security and user access controls you woudl expect of SSRS

Hi @Brice,

I'm afraid the requirement that have data on cloud is not available. As Power BI Report Server is on-premises, not cloud service. You can see the difference from comparison table in this blog.

Besides, you said 'Having the server physicaly inside the walls', do you mean configure a Firewall for Report Server Access? If so, you could refer to this document.
