Loading Data Faster Report Builder

I am not sure I am psoting this is the correct place - this is for PAGINATED REPORT BUILDER

I am having some struggles with the data tables/views that my company is having built.

First they load Nulls in fields instead of a zero or blank.  Best way to build a view for fast access?

Paginated report builder does not like this (have to handle these differently).

Next is my Paginated reports take a long time to load up the cascading parameters, especially when using views.

We are not talking millions of records here, less than 250,000 and sometimes less than 50,000.

Any suggestions on what to do to improve table speed and builds for faster data retrieval?

Or refer to someone who can help me?

A couple of suggestions:

1. Try creating indexes on the tables that are used in the views.

2. If you have the option, turn the views into physical tables as part of your ETL process.

The suggestions above can be applied to just those views that used in parameters (if parameters are the only problem) or to other views used in the report (if the report is also slow to load).
