Licensing, requirements and remote access

Hi!

We are planning to use Power BI Report Server (PBRS) in our organization.

I have a few qustions regarding PBRS:

1) If PBRS is fully on-premise solution, why should we buy Pro licenses for report creators? Do I understand it correctly: all the data is processed and stored on our local server without using cloud?

2) If we purchase PBRS through Premium licensing, do we need to buy additional SQL Server license to store PBRS database?

3) If we purchase PBRS through SQL+SA, do we need to buy or install any additional software to use PBRS?
4) Are there any ways of viewing PBRS reports remotely outside our local network?

Yes, unfortunately.

It depends 🙂

The question is only, where you will place the database. The licence give you also the premission to install a SQL Server.

No. (only a windows server)

4) Are there any ways of viewing PBRS reports remotely outside our local network?

Yes, RS ist a Webservice
