Installing personal gateway on another laptop

Hi Guys,

Currently im running an online gateway on my new personal laptop which can be a pain cause it has to be on when the datasets is scheduled to refresh and can ruin the laptop's battery life.

What would happen if i remove the gateway thats currently online from my laptop and install it on another laptop which i have.

What would be the right process in doing so?

Or if possible can a gateway can be online on 2 PC's at once?

Thanks,

Hi @Majid101,

To keep the gateway online so that it can ensure the scheduled refresh to work, you'd better install the gateway on a computer which is always running. If you remove a currently gateway, the gateway on service will prompt that it is offline that cannot be used. So, after you re-install it on another PC, you may have to re-configure gateway and re-add datasource to gateway on service.
