Hi guys,
I would like to modify the report directly from the server so I did "Modify in Power Bi Desktop"
but I had this error for every reports
The message said : "Impossible to open the document. An unexpected error occured"
Do you know how could I fix it ?
Thank you and have a good day 🙂
Hi, thank you for taking time to answer me.
This is the case for all files. I just tried with a blank file , it's the same.
all reports are developed by the version of PBIRS january 2020. the update of version doesn't depend on me.
Do you think the update could have any impact on the developed reports ?
Thank you
Hi @Anonymous ,
Usually, the new version will fix some issues in the previous versions. It may solve the problem you are experiencing now.
In addition, security and critical updates of Power BI Report Server are available until the next release becomes generally available (GA). After the next release, the previous release continues to receive security updates for the remainder of the 12-month release lifespan. For the version January 2020, support end date is January 2021. From this point of view, it is also recommend to upgrade the version.
Best regards
Icey

It means that I have no choice and must upgrade the actual version of PWBI before january 2021 ?
Hi @Anonymous ,
You can also continue to use your current version after that and we will do our best to help you.🙂
However, for you to get a better user experience, it is suggested to upgrade to the versions on support timeline.
Best regards

Hi @Anonymous ,
Is this the case for all files? Can you open a blank file?
I can't reproduce your issue and my PBIRS version is 15.0.1104.264 (October 2020), published on 11/18/2020. Please try this version.
In addition, please check if this post could help you: Unable to open the document issue.
Best regards
Icey
