Hello,
I have a requirement to pass the Power BI slicer value to SSRS 2016 Paginated Report link dynamically. Is there any possibilty way to do that approach? The Power BI report is connected through SSAS Live Cube.
Ex:
I have transaction date and Status (Open/Closed) in the Power BI report slicer. I need to pass the transcation date and status dynamically based on the user selection to the SSRS Report link.
Tried the below URLpassing URL Filter. It didn't help me out.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-url-filters
If you want to pass parameters dynamically you can use DAX for achieving this.
E.g.
Link =
VAR FirstSlicer = SELECTEDVALUE( 'Table'[Column] )
VAR SecondSlicer = SELECTEDVALUE( 'Table2'[Column2] )
VAR URL = "powerbiserviceurl?"
RETURN
URL & "rp:Column=" & FirstSlicer & "&rp:Column2=" & SecondSlicer
The full description you can find here: https://sqlserverbi.blog/2019/07/04/drillthrough-from-power-bi-to-an-ssrs-paginated-report/
Is there any update on this. I am looking for the soultion.
Appreciate any help.
Thanks,
soumya
Not sure exactly what you're trying to achieve, but If you want to go from a powerBI report into a paginated RDL report:
In PBI report you can genearate a hyperlink, potentially using a slicer to filter the values in a table:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/power-bi-hyperlinks-in-tables
Then, define your URLs in the PBI report to link to a paginaged report under http://[servername]/reportserver/[path]/[reportname]?[parameters].
If you want to go the other way (RDL into PBI) then create a URL action on a textbox in your RDL, generate the URL of the PBI report and if you are using PBIRS October you can pass filters on the URL as described in the link you included.
