How to get correct Row Count in PowerBI Report Builder (paginated)

Hi - unsure where to go for PowerBI Report Builder (paginated) help so posting here.

I would like an expression to return the row number (to alternate row colour of a Tablix).

However the logic of how rownumber is calculated in Report Builder is different to what I am used to..

Using what I found online the expression =RowNumber(Nothing) should give rownumber of a Tablix.

I want this:

However it is returning rownumber in this fashion:

Wrong.PNG

Please help (or point me in the right direction of where to ask!)

Thanks in advance!

Hi.

Have you tried to use dataset name in RowNumber function ( =RowNumber("DataSet1") ,for example)?

@andris hmm that doesn't appear to work for me.

@bradsy that pretty much just outlines what I said above, so am still in the same situation

Have you found solution? Thing is, I even haven't been able to recreate your result, I always get "normal" row numbering from top to bottom without numbering each separate cell.

Is there something more to the tablix and data? If possible, could you describe how this was done?

@andris I am very new to paginated reports, so most likely doing something odd!

This is the design view:

What more info would help?

Hi,

sorry, no idea. I think it might have something to do with grouping levels within tablix, but that is just a feeling, I have no clear idea.

Hope you manage to solve this!

Andris
