So are they now actually cancelling the JAN Release and waiting until May? So much for using NOV Desktop, by the time we get the May update the next Desktop version will be out and obsolete for us On Prem users.

We've been waiting for RLS to be implemented for what seems like forever and we were banking on it being in the next release due this month.
The Power BI Happy New Year Blog Post says the following below the video:
This month we will have a Power BI Report Server update only, but starting February, Power BI Desktop will continue our monthly ship cadence. Looking forward to an even more impactful 2019!
I am still hopeful that we are getting a release this month.

Sorry for the confusion, there was an error in the release notes and it caused some concern with folks, but as you’ve seen, the release went out and there’ll be a blogpost in the AM released covering off on the new functionality in detail!
The documentation at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/install-powerbi-desktop states January 2019 update but all links on the page and later graphic still indicate August 2018. The download link in Report Server still takes you to August 2018 version...
