Do you want to save = _utf-8_B_TGFza...........(51,5KB) from server

Hello!

I have some Excel files uploaded to PowerBI Report Server. When I download those files on server via browser I get original filename for example "test.xlsx" but when I download those files from other computer I get long string starting "_utf-8...." instead of "test.xlsx".

What setting could cause this?

Regards

Cazzy

Good day @cazzy ,

I'v experienced the same issue today. Discovered that it is in the filename of the specific XLSX-file in my case (name had "financiën" in it). Changed the "ë" in an "e" and it works fine. Are you sure you don't have any strange characters in the filename?

I'm on version 1.5.7074.36177 (May 2019) of the Report Server by the way...

Best regards from The Netherlands, Wilco

Hello!

Thank you! You are right! Actually my filename was "Laskentasäännöt_xxx_xx_xxxx.xlsx". I removed scandinavian letters and it worked.

But how to tacle this? In this country we need those.

Power Bi Report Server version is 15.0.1102.235 on Windows Server 2016 and browser is Chrome version 79.0.3945.88.

Salute!

Sorry, wrong information. Chrome is ok, but Edge is not.

FYI - This issue should be fixed in the January 2020 release that is coming out shortly.

Hello!

January 2020 release is now out but we still have same problem with IE11. I guess we have to talk to customer about Chromium.

Hi @cazzy

Did you use the same browser to download the Excel file in another computer?

What's your Power BI report server version?

I tested on my side with the latest Power BI report server version 15.0.1102.646 but not able to reproduce the issue. Please update your Power BI report server version if possible.

Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
