Character limit on SSRS report data set

Hi,

I wanted to know if there is a character limit inside the SSRS data set?

We need to decide either to directly write data queries inside the data set or use stored procedures instead.

Also, if theres is any limit to the number of data sets i can create/use in 1 single report.

As far as I know Microsoft does not specify a limit for either datasets or character limit inside the dataset fields. But performance may be your biggest concern. In a forum question I read long time ago, a report containing 64 datasets had time out when deploying or HTTP Status 400: Bad Request error. So you need to rethink your design.
