Can't fill sign in information for data set ODBC

Hi,

I connected my PBI Desktop with ODBC and fill in my sign in information correctly. The upload works.

So I  publish my dataset and the reports. Sadly it doesn't refreshes the datasets for some reason in PBI App.

It says I need to put in my sign in information for the Data Set, but it is not available for me - grew letters.

Note: There is no Gateway installed. But it seems it should work anyway.

Can pls help me out with this isssue. Thx in advance and greetings from Germany

Hi @Chilli ,

If your data source is on-premise, you should install a gateway and add data source in settings of gateway. You don't have to edit credential in dataset settings:

And if someone  share the datasource with you , you don't have permission to modify the credentials. You need to select it in gateway connection:

can you please share the screenshot of the area where you are not able to sign in?

Are you publishing reports in Power BI App (Web) ? or in PBIRS (On-Prem)

Np, you will require to install Gateway to make it enable and have data refresh.
