Hi All,
I have Power BI desktop installed on virtual machine with Static IP. That IP is whitelisted at clients SQL server (sqlexpress). Auth is basic and I have user and password. No matter what I try I cant connect to the db and view they created. What am I missing? Do I need to whitelist any other IP. The idea is to have gateway on VM and have it refresh the report from their SQL server.
Thank you for any help, I am new to this!

Try run Power BI Desktop as "Run As Administrator" and see if it still persists.

Thank you for the answer but that did not help. Any other suggestions? Do they have to whitelist any other IP?
Can you please share the error & screenshot of it?

This error doesn't look like a Whitelist issue,
Are you able to log in thru SSMS from your machine where PBI Desktop is installed?
