Bug with embedding in Power BI Report Server September 2019

Hi,

Just updated Power BI Report Server to the yesterday announced September 2019 version.

Microsoft team, there is a bug with embedding reports now. String parameter ?rs:embed=true does not work anymore, instead of embedding report it redirects to favorites page.

Please fix this issue asap, critical for our compaby.

Thanks.

Hi @jopasqui

Actually the issue was not with embedding itself, but suddenly September version turned instance name in URL case sensitive. That's why embedding didn't work. Here is the description: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Report-Server-September-2019-instance-name-in-URL-suddenly-c...

However, thanks for help, the issue is no longer relevant.

Hello @almazfm ,

Just tested rs:embed on PBIRS September, and could not reproduce the bug.

Does it happen to all your reports ?

My PBIRS version is : 1.6.7206.42072

J

Hi @jopasqui ,

PBIRS version is 15.0.1102.597

Power BI Desktop version 2.73.5586.821

May it be that you're using September 2018 version?

In fact yes, all the PBI reports could not be opened with rs:embed=true. We don't use paginated or mobile.

A.

We have the same versions, 1.6.7206.42072 (found on ? on portal) is the same as 15.0.1102.597 (RS isntance). We also have the same Desktop version.

Do you use Iframes ?

If you go on the portal, on a specific report and add the ?rs:embed=true to the url, does it still redirects to favorites ?

Also if you do network debugging (F12 on most of browsers, network pane), do you see any attempt to reach the report url ?
