Adhoc reporting in Power BI

Does Power BI support Adhoc Reporting? If yes how it will work? any reference link will be appraciatable

Hi @KarthikCapz,

 

Power BI does support Adhoc Reporting and you can link to many data types such as CSV, SQL Server etc.

The solution is good. But we have a different requirement.

 

My client will send any list of fields (adhoc) they require and we have to send the report. How it can be done?

 

Is there any way, once i copy those fields and paste it in a file, the listed fields should be generated as a report?

Do you mean that you would like Power BI to automatically set up the charts for you without any intervention?

Exactly. The fields will change dynamically.

I don't think that is possible at the moment.

 

However a work around could be to set up some standard charts and amend the column names in from your CSV/Excel file to reflect the field names in Power BI.
