Hi everyone,
I wanted to test this new october feature "start diagnostic" in the power query editor and received this error message:
Insufficent permissions while starting the diagnostics listener. consider running elevated.
Does it means I need the admin right on my computer ?
I'm using the store version of powerBi : Version: 2.74.5619.621 64-bit (October 2019)
any one else has the same issue ?
Fred

Hi fsim,
I test this in my environment, it works well
After you enable "diagnostic" in powerbi desktop, you need to restart the powerbi desktop. And you could try to run pbi desktop as administrator to see wehether it work or not. Or you could re-install this to see whether it work or not.

Hi Zoe,
I unistalled/ reinstalled it, unsuccessfully.
I also tried to launch it as an administrator (local admin) but this account don't find the app.
I had to put my account in the admin group, then run Power Bi as administrator to make it run.
Unfortunately I will not be allowed to keep the admin rights 😕
