importing data from csv to sql data warehouse

I have 100s of heavy CSV files and wanted to upload it on Sql Data WareHouse, and then connect it with PowerBI. Whats the best way to do so?

I have referred to this page which talks about using bpc commands, but then it has requirements of UTF-16 and requires tables to be created beforehand, which seems a LOT of effort before we can import 12GB worth of csv file in sql data warehouse. Isnt there a way to drag and drop the data into sql data warehouse or something as easy?

Any pointers appreciated.

Hi @HarRuc,

Based on my research, you can use SSIS package to import CSV files to SQL database, then import data from SQL Server to SQL Data Warehouse. For more information, please take a look at below links:

Importing data from CSV To SQL using SSIS ScriptTask

Load data from SQL Server into Azure SQL Data Warehouse (SSIS)

As the issue is more related to Azure SQL Data Warehouse, I would suggest you create a thread in Azure SQL Data Warehouse forum to get dedicated support.

We have had great success using Azure Data Factory for this kind of thing. Here are all of the various options:
