enterprise gateway connection

Hi,

My enterprise gateway is setup & configured.

All I want to do is connect to the configured source, as named in the gateway, and enter a sql query.
Is that possible?

Seems very simple task to me but nobody seems to know how to do it.

Also, Is this our only source of support? Frustrating

Power BI is a great product but better documentation & examples would help.

Thx in advance

Tony

I haven't investigated fully. Currently the best source of information on the Enterprise Gateway is here:

https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-gateway-enterprise-indepth/

It is in Preview so I think we can cut MS a little slack on the documentation side of things.

Thx smoupre.

I've read the article before but re-reading now I've seen this sentance. So I've think this answers my question

The connection string configured in the Power BI Desktop file needs to match a data source already configured in the Power BI service. When a match is found, it will use the gateway that the data source belongs to.
