don't Dataverse inherit of the security ?

Hi there !

I was testing the connect to dataverse connector and I was quite surrpised to see that all the endusers could see all the data with no link to their BU or teams or whatever security rules that are described here or here (security in cds)

So I had a look online without success. All the links send me to the RSL system

Did I miss something ?

How can I mimic the hierachical BU/teams security only with the userprincipal ?

any recommandation on that ?

Many thanks in advance

Hi Eyelyn !

Yes we did.

I think I understood what's going on.

For some reason I don't get, the queries switched to import instead of Direct query. Therefore, it was my acocunt (full right on the system) that was used for the last refresh of the data. So all the data are in the dataset and security of the dataverse don't play any more role.

I'm rebuiling the report using direct queries instead. It should work .. I hope.

4h to rebuild the report (mainly the dataset) in direct query mode (and native sql queries) and it's finaly working.

I also split the dataset and the report(s) . In other words, I published an empty report and use its dataset as the data source of my final report. Side effect  I cannot use the RSL role. 😕
I'pm still searching for a way to be able to switch from "all the reccords I can have access to" to "only the reccords I'm the owner".. next challenge
