What is the "Microsoft Power BI Information Service" member doing as a Global Admin in Azure?

Our Global Admins were surprised to find a "Microsoft Power BI Information Service" ServicePrincipal as a member of the Global Admin role for our Azure tenent.

What is it for? I assume Microsoft created it; others have noted its existence well over a year ago.

It seems that the "Microsoft Power BI Information Service" ServicePrincipal is related to the permission to access Power BI admin portal .

There is also a old blog describing "Microsoft Power BI Information Service Plan1" license.
