Good morning,
In the company we want to use Power BI as a Business Intelligence tool, however we have doubts about what type of license we should acquire. Our ultimate goal is to use SSRS integration with Power BI so users do not need cloud connectivity. Please, if anyone can clarify the doubt, much will be grateful. Regards,
If you are using the current SSRS Power BI integration, I do not believe that requires a Pro license. In general, however, you will likely generally end up with a Pro license eventually.
I understand then that only the SQL 2016 license for integration is enough. Should be sql enterprise or just the standard license?
Hi @jonmujica,
Both SQL Server 2016 Standard edition and SQL Server 2016 Enterprise edition are suitable for use in integration with Power BI, the decision to choose Standard or Enterprise is based on scale and enterprise requirements, for more details about difference between the two editions, please review the following blog.
