I am new to creating PowerBI reports.  I want to use PowerBI online.   I have imported an excel file with a datatable in it.   Then I changed the name of one of the columns from syear to year.   How do I remap the column syear to year in the report?  I only get error messages with no option to remap.

@dml5,

After you rename columns the Excel source, you would need to re-connect to the Excel data source in Power BI Online.

In your scenario, I would recommend you connect to Excel  in Power BI Desktop and create reports in Power BI Desktop and publish Power BI reports to Power BI Service. In Power BI Desktop, you can rename year to syear without changing Excel data source.
