Hi,
My Power BI Desktop is connected to an MS-SQL database. I am using the Import connection method to pull in a selection of tables from that database. I can manually refresh the imported data through Power BI Desktop. However, I have not found a way to schedule automatic refreshing of the imported data.
To be clear, I am not looking to schedule refreshes of my Power BI Desktop dataset to the Power BI Pro online server (I have set that up and it's working fine), I am looking to schedule refreshes of my MS-SQL database to my Power BI Desktop which would then in turn refresh my data in the Power BI Pro online server.
So my desired data flow to automate is:
MS-SQL --> Power BI Desktop --> Power BI online server
Any thoughts on how I can set this up? I have found absolutely no documentation on this so far.
Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous
As far as i known,
Power BI Desktop don't support Schedule Refresh currently.
It supports to refresh on schedule from Power BI Service directly to data source.
When schedule refresh works on Power BI Service, it send queries back to the data source (MY-SQL database in your case),then get lastest data from the database and display it on Power BI Service dashboards or reports.
So the flow for schedule refresh is
MS-SQL --> Gateway-> Power BI online server
To learn how to configure scheduled refresh, see Configure scheduled refresh.
Best Regards
