The Power BI schedule refresh reports that the Salesforce log-in failed due to credentials, but Salesforce reports that the sign-in was successful? Any ideas.

It appears it was a random issue with Salesforce, just started working the next day.

Are you able to refresh salesforce data in Power BI Desktop?Does your dataset only contain the salesforce data source?
Based on the above error message, please contact salesforce administrator that if the password is expired and if OAuth is enabled on salesforce side.
