SSAS Connector won't work on AWS/Azure VMs?

Hi,

The documentation for the live Analysis Services connector specifies that the tabular mode SSAS instance must be on-premise. Why is this? What would be so different about a SSAS instance installed on an Azure VM?

@mcarper SSAS instances on Azure VMs are considered on-premise.
