Power Query downloads data from local disk (temp) instead of sharepoint

Hi PBI community,

I am experiencing an issue with Power Query. I have set my data source as sharepoint, however for some reason the actual source that is used when updating datat is on my local computer in Temp folder. I need it to update only from sharepoint. I already cleared the cache but it didn't help. Please advice, thank you.

Hi @michael163 ,

What's your data source? SharePoint folder, SharePoint Online List or SharePoint list?

Best regards

Hi @Icey , I use SharepointFolder

Hi @michael163 ,

Is the site url when connecting typed like this: https://company.sharepoint.com/sites/yoursite

If not, please change it.

If it is, please try to

  • clear the data source permission and re-connect to it;
  • upgrade Power BI Desktop to the latest version: 2.87.1061.0.

In addition, is this the case for all reports where the data source is SharePoint Online?

Best regards

Icey

Hi @Icey , I did everything you said:

- updated PBI

- cleared and reconnected permissions

- I already had the name right

However I still get the same result

Addition: I have similar cca 10 apps running with sharepoin connection and everything besides this one works correctly.

Hi @michael163 ,

This is so strange.🤔

Then, I'll suggest you create a support ticket to get further help.
