Hello everyone.
At the company, we have been using a cloud-based e-commerce platform called VTEX (similar to Shopify). Currently, we are exporting .csv files in a montly basis, but we need to connect live (or "refreshable") to the database. VTEX provides a developers resource library, we refer to the API collection for the orders module, but we have been unable to connect to it following those instructions.
We are working in Power BI Desktop (2.56.5023.942 64-bit) and trying to connect to external data via web option, but with no luck at the inputs of the URLs, tokens and keys.
We want to know if is possible to connect in that way or with any other means Power BI may offer to request and get the order information? Is the web approach the way or do we have to get data using a different source?
Thanks for your help and hope I have been clear in my question.
Juan
Hi, you ought to try getting connecting your e-commerce platform to a data warehouse such as BigQuerry and then connecting to power bi. If you have any technical background this should be easy to do. Or you can use a third-party connector to get your data to power bi, through their cloud or even BigQuerry. This one has helped do just that for ads platforms. https://windsor.ai/ Check them out.
@jbotero,
What error message do you get when you use Web entry in Power BI Desktop? You can enter the API’s address and required header information in Web.Contents() function to connect to your data source, there is a similar blog for your reference.

Hello Lydia.
Thanks for your reply. I found the blog post very useful, but sadly, Power BI keeps getting an error with the request. Please find attached the image with the exact error (black part is the API key).
We have also tried to connect anonymously directly without Query Editor with no luck, as Power BI says the credentials are not correct.
Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.
Best regards,
Juan
