Not Importing data from Excel Spreadsheet

I seem to have an issue importing data from Excel Spreadsheets, if I use the Connect option the data is available in the Report section but each time I use the Import option I get the 'Processing the file' dialogue for a few seconds and then nothing, the dataset doesn't appear.  If I change the file type to .csv then the file imports fine.  Am I missing something really obvious here?

What is your query "Load to" settings ? Excel Spreadsheet, conection only, data model ?

Default settings are available into Power Query ribbon -> Options -> Global -> Data Load

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

I've tried both OneDrive and also local hard drive, same outcome for both.

Is your excel file .xls (97-2003)  or .xlsx (2007 - 2016)? Sometimes it works only with .xlsx

It's a .xlsx file.

Last try..Data are format as table?
