New security warning for custom connectors

In the previous update (July+) our users are being presented with a new security warning for custom connectors. The message says that the connector is 'un-certified'. What is the process to get a custom connector 'certified?

The connector is secure and users didnt get this message previously!

@DavidThiele,

Go to File->Options and Settings -> Options->Security in Power BI Desktop, select "(Not Recommeded) Allow any extension to load without validation or warning"under Data Extensions section.

For more details about the new message, please reveiw the following articles.

Thanks Lydia. My question though was on how to get one certifed.

There is no information I can find on how to start the process.

@DavidThiele,

Please contact the DataConnectors@microsoft.com alias about connector certification.

Thanks again Lydia. I did contact the email but have had no response.

We have however been able reach the Data Integration Program Manager (via a different MS contact) to start the process.
