NAV Content Pack and Analyze In Excel

Hi,

I tried Analyze In Excel feature for Dynamics NAV Content Pack.

Looks like there are no calculated mesures defioned in the data set as I cannot get any totals for any field. For example, I try to get total of "Profit" from table "ItemSalesAndProfit", but what I get is error: "The field you are moving cannot be placed in that area of the report". The same is with fields "Purchases LCY", "Sales_LCY" etc.

Is there any solution for this?

@modeco Analyze in Excel treats your published dataset as live ssas tabular model so you do need calculated measure to put in values field. I doubt if you save a copy of content pack and edit it you will be able to create calculated measure because power bi service doesn't have that option yet.

What you can do is in PivotTable create your own calculated measure, ie while you're connected live to published dataset under PivotTable > Analyze > OLAP Tools > Calculated Measure.

Hi @ankitpatira

Could you develop a bit more how to type an MDX expression

I'm not expert on MDX

Writing the field doesn't run

Examples: [Sales].[salesAmount] or Sum([Movimientos].[UNIDADES])

Thanks in advance

Lluís
