Hi all.
I have a strange problem regarding the big query connector.
I have about 6 queries set up in my power query editor that all query the same big query table.
5 of the queries get the columns that I want from the table.
But 1 of them refuses to load the data into the model (but the sample data in power query editor is fine)
When trying to load the data in this problematic query I get an error: (131) Unauthorized. Check your premissions.
As the other 5 queries to the same table go through I struggle to understand that this is a permissions problem and have discounted the error message as a false positive.
Problem is that the connector is a black box to me ,so I can't troubleshoot whats going on.
I dont think there are any permissions restrictions set on a column level wither (dont know if google even support that), and I have testet the exact same query that I use from power BI in the google console without getting any errors there.
Anyone had the same experience, or any tips to what goes wrong and how to sidestep it?
Hi @cltj
This looks weird when all queries are connecting to the same BigQuery table. If you open data source settings window, do you see only one data source listed there? Anyway you can try clearing the permission of the data source(s) and set the crendentials again. Sometimes this can resolve some permission related errors.
In addition, I found a thread regarding the same problem in BigQuery. The solution shared there may be helpful. You may need to assign the predefined GCP IAM role "BigQuery Read Session User" to the Power BI user that needs access to BigQuery.
